Ru 1:1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine^07458 in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. Am 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine^07458 in the land, not a famine^07458 of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: Ru 1:2 And the name of the man was Elimelech (my God is King), and the name of his wife Naomi (my delight), and the name of his two sons Mahlon (sick) and Chilion (pining), Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. Ru 1:3 And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. Ru 1:4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah (gazelle), and the name of the other Ruth (friendship): and they dwelled there about ten years. Ru 1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. 1Ti 5:5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. Zec 7:10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. La 1:1 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary! Ru 1:6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. Eze 36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine^07458 among the heathen. Ru 1:7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah. Ru 1:14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave^01692 unto her. Ps 63:8 My soul followeth hard^01692 after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. Ru 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Ru 1:17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Ru 1:19 So they two went until they came to Bethlehem (house of bread). And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? Ru 1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara (bitterness): for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. Ex 15:25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, Ru 1:21 I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? Lu 1:53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. Ru 1:22 So Naomi returned^07725, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest. Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return^07725 unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Ho 6:1 Come, and let us return^07725 unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Ho 14:1 O Israel, return^07725 unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
