Ru 2:1 And Naomi had a kinsman (relative) of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz (fleetness – type of Christ). Ru 2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. Isa 17:5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim. Isa 27:12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. Ru 2:3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light (just so happens) on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech. Ru 2:5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this? Ru 2:6 And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab: Ru 2:7 And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves (omer – unit of measure): so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house. Mt 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Ru 2:8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens: Ps 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. Ps 119:31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. Ru 2:9 Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn. Isa 65:13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: Mt 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Mt 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Ru 2:10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? Ru 2:11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore. Mr 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, Mr 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mt 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Ru 2:12 The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Heb 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. Re 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Ru 2:13 Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens. Ps 119:76 Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
Conclusion Naomi and family leaving Jerusalem for Moab = Corporate church going back into the bondage of sin in Egypt (Moab) Elimelech, Mahlon and Chilion dying = Corporate church coming under God’s wrath and Naomi and Ruth becoming widows Naomi and Ruth returning to Bethlehem = Elect body coming out of the famine of the tribulation Boaz (kinsman of Elimelech) takes interest in Ruth = Christ (head of the corporate body) takes interest in the believers (Moabite strangers) Ruth gleaning with the reapers = Elect coming out of the tribulation and joining Christ with the other angels (messengers) to gather
