Jud 14:1 And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. Jud 14:2 And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. Jud 14:3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? Jud 14:5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath (portion – a town in Judah), and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him. Pr 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Ps 74:4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. Ps 17:12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. Jer 51:38 They (Babylon, dragons) shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions’ whelps. Job 4:10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. Jud 14:6 And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done. Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him (Christ), the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; Jud 14:7 And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well. Jud 14:8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase (fall, ruin, carcase) of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm (congregation, company, multitude) of bees and honey in the carcase (body, corpse, carcase) of the lion. Pr 29:16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. Eze 31:13 Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches: De 1:44 And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah. Ps 118:12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. Isa 7:18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. Jud 14:9 And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion. Jer 32:22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; (promised land of Canaan) Isa 7:15 Butter and honey shall he (Emmanuel) eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. Pr 24:13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: Ps 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
